You mean to show that it is still under warranty? No, they will look up how old it is from the serial number.

Yeah all you have to do is call them and get your xbox and when they ask for the serial number its on the back... btw most xbox consoles come with 3 year warranties

no you do not need the receipt. when you bought the xbox the serial number was scanned and microsoft knows when it was sold. you only get a one year warranty through microsoft so if its after a year you will be paying for the repairs. Call 1-888-4MY-XBOX to check for sure and if it is still good they will send you a repair box so youo can send it in. Or if you are registered on xbox.com you can it that way as well.
