As the guy above me said, in a practical sense no. The new Xbox 360 S hard drive slot is designed for smaller hard drive that is not cased, unlike the older Xbox 360 hard drives which come in a case that attaches to the top of the system.You can open the case of the old harddrives, and remove the actual hard drive itself and directly insert it into the new Xbox 360 S as people have been able to get it to work, but it will take a bit of effort and risk.
